Victoria’s Home – Coastal Chic Style
The first contact came from one of our clients, who wanted some advice on a possible house expansion. After researching the proposed preliminary designs shown to us by clients, it was determined that renovating the present footprint of the home would be a better match for the family.
Three modest bedrooms were located at the back of the house. So we pitched to the clients the idea of redesigning this area by stealing the third area, which was really a small office space for both of the other bedrooms, to enlarge these areas, include built-in desks for the children, and custom wardrobe spaces for each.
The front of the house contained two bedrooms, one of which was a smaller master suite and another that was quite little next to it and only housed a single bed near the front door. We reconfigured the space, including this little room as a new walk-in robe for the owners, rearranged the walls, and added a larger ensuite to create a stunning master bedroom.
Again, in the main living section of the house, we massaged and repositioned walls to create a spacious dining space with built-in bench seating, a fireplace, and a TV mounted above into the loungeroom. The lovely existing racked ceilings in here were the home’s hero, so we kept them and based the remainder of the home’s architecture and aesthetic around them.
To finish the construction, outside work included new tiling around the pool, reconfiguring the stairwell entry to the pool patio area, and fixing up driveway and entry with refacing a new colour, new plants, letter box, and grass.
Following the construction, we started to add all the finishing touches such as furniture, window treatments, and décor. Custom designed and constructed cabinets in the media room, as well as extra custom cabinetry near the fireplace, to provide as much storage as possible in this property. The home’s construction was based on our concept for a soft light and cheerful Coastal Style. There is now a great flow to the home and enough of space for a growing family.
