Julie’s Home – Coastal

Julie made contact with Winning Interiors to help concept & plan our her home interior design needs. It was a big move for this owner in downsizing and Julie was determined from the start of her new home build to complete it as she has always dream of doing.

The brief was light and bright relaxed coastal home. It contains light and relaxing rattan elements, paired with unique created pieces that finish off the look. A new entry console with large mirror sets the tone upon entering this home.

The hallway leads you to the dining room, at first Julie was very disappointed with the size thinking she had made a mistake in the plans but a quick solution in proportional pieces suggested by our designer fits now a beautiful solid round dining table with seating for four. To accompany any extra guest stools where also included to slide neatly under the kitchen bench, which can be used when needed. Again, solid warm timber tones along with rattan elements where chosen to bring a relaxed atmosphere in this client dining room.

The existing lounge was to be reworked into the new design. We quickly could see that a reconfigure was required to access all available space in this room, which allowed for plenty of room and access for all the family to enjoy, once completed the client was surprised at the difference it made and said “ why did we not think of that?”. To bring in some unique elements a gorgeous rattan TV unit buffet was suggested in the concept plans, this fitted the wall cavity perfectly and offered up much needed storage galore without the cost of a custom build.

Lastly, the master bedroom was a completely new design apart form the existing ensemble base. We included into this room a new padded and pin tucked bedhead for a luxury style. Either side we suggested a set of wide white chest of draws, not only for practical storage needs but also to balance and scale out the king bed well. New linen was sourced in the style we have been working in to the home, lighting individually sourced for this new design work in to the tones perfectly. An occasional chair and side table fitted into the corner of the room, to sit in and read when the owner felt the need too.

All round this home is now set to enjoy for many years and services the family of 3 so well. both in practicality and individuality in design and style.
